What the Webcam?

With great technology comes great responsibility—or at least that’s what some of the most notable people in the world are thinking. Mark Zuckerberg revealed in a photo that he tapes over his webcam and microphone jack on his laptop. Similarly, James Comey, former FBI director, puts a piece of tape over the camera. Though they haven’t been clear about their reasoning—with the exception of Comey alluding to copying Zuckerberg with the idea—it seems to be for fear of hackers and privacy breaches. Both have not given any specific data or research to back up their reasoning. However, many experts have also begun to cover up their webcams, hoping that it will reduce any damage that could occur as a result of a hack.
