Have you ever heard people talking about the way they grew up to be like one of their parents? This is often due to how certain things are inherited, but it does not always then equate to being something that you would want to go ahead and inherit.
In fact, if we look at the role of sociopaths, we see that things really can be in the genes and that your childhood environment can play a role in how you then grow up into an adult.
What has been noticed in various studies is that if a child is diagnosed as being sociopathic, then there is a very high risk that one of their parents is also sociopathic as well. Actually, the chances are 4 or 5 times higher than the average human being, which does show the way that your family acts can indeed make a difference to your future.
But one important point is that there has also been a study whereby they focused on people that were sociopathic and were also adopted as infants. Even then, there was a much higher rate whereby one of their biological relatives also had the personality disorder, even though they had been removed from that particular environment.
