Otters are pretty cool, and yet they do not get the attention that they deserve especially when you consider that they are more intelligent than most people realize. However, one of the coolest things about them is actually part of nature helping them out especially when it comes to the Southern Sea Otter.
If you ever have the opportunity to check under its forelegs, then you will see that there is a special flap of skin. However, the otter does not see it as being an issue because it then goes ahead and uses this piece of skin as its own small pockets. They have been observed in the wild putting rocks and prey that they have caught into them to then eat later on and you have to admit that this must be one of the strangest things to appear in the animal world. At least the humble otter has decided that this spare piece of skin is not going to go to waste.
