A Saint Bernard dog is hardly known for being the toughest dog in the world, and yet it seems that this is not always the case.
Take a dog that was a mascot in the Norwegian Navy during World War II as the perfect example. This dog that went by the name, Bamse appears to have been responsible for keeping the peace between crewmates, which was certainly far beyond what it was expected to do. In fact, he developed a reputation for breaking up fights between people as he clearly had no intention of anybody being hurt at any point.
On one occasion, a fight broke out between two crew where one individual had a knife. However, Bamse was not going to be deterred from dealing with the situation and promptly pushed the assailant that was holding the knife into the sea to stop things from getting worse.
