A mole can be an annoying creature if a molehill suddenly appears on your lawn or in the middle of your garden. It often ends up that there is then a network of tunnels under the ground that you are blissfully unaware of, and yet are you aware of how hard they work just to make a mess of your garden like that?
It turns out that the rather humble mole is a bit of a friend when it comes to digging those tunnels. In fact, it has been shown that a single mole is able to dig around 300ft of tunnel in just a single night, and all with those small hands.
Now, if you think of the size of the mole and compare it to the size of us humans, then you would probably find it difficult to match it for its ability to work because could you ever contemplate being able to dig 300ft of a tunnel that is big enough for you in a single night? Of course not, so the next time you see a molehill appearing then perhaps just salute it for what it is, which is one of the best diggers around in the animal kingdom.
