Everybody knows that art can be expensive, but you tend to get something for your money that you can then go ahead and admire. However, it is not always the case, which is crazy when you think about the money that can indeed be spent on it.
Take the case of a work of art that was purchased for $10,000 in 2011. Now, for some that may not even be a lot of money, but it suddenly sounds as if you have been conned when you discover what was purchased with that cash.
A woman by the name of Aimee Davison purchased a piece of art that went by the name of ‘Fresh Air, so you can perhaps already identify the direction in which this is heading. It really was a piece of art that had nothing in it at all and was just an empty frame.
You would expect that Ms. Davison would be upset at this, but she actually knew what she was doing. It was her belief that in purchasing it, she would have a wing of the museum named after her, so even though she did indeed buy a piece of art that had nothing in it, she certainly benefited in other ways.
