Have you ever had the feeling that you have met an individual before and yet you are not quite sure when or how? Well, there are some people out there that have that particular feeling every single time they meet someone, but then they do have a rather rare issue known as Fregoli delusion.
With this, the individual believes that the person they see before them is actually the same person in disguise over and over again. It is named after an Italian actor a century ago who was able to imitate every single person that appeared in a scene, even though this is something that does happen in real life.
It was first noted in the 1920’s when an individual believed that an actress that he had a crush on was disguising herself as different people over and over again. This led to very real frustration and him becoming rather depressed and annoyed that nobody else was able to actually see what was going on.
It does not happen too often, but there have been a few documented cases of individuals with this kind of a reaction. You can only imagine how it has a negative impact on their lives and the way in which they encounter people.
