Let’s face it, politicians all over the world are known for being duplicitous and corrupt, and for good reason: They often run on a platform to get elected and, once elected, either ignore their original ideas or change them to ones that are completely different. Once in office, many get involved in scandals that involve alcohol, drugs, women, sometimes men or boys, and (of course) payoffs.
But one thing that we can generally count on politicians to do is to say nothing of any value … usually.
During a June 28, 2016 speech to elected officials of the European Union, former Luxembourg Prime Minster and current President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, spoke against BREXIT. He also seemed to say that he had recently been in communication with people from other planets. Yes, Juncker apparently claimed to be in contact with aliens.
Juncker delivered the speech in French, but here is part of the English translation.
“You need to know that those who observe us from afar are worried. I have seen, listened and heard many leaders of other planets and they are worried because they wonder about the course the EU will follow. So we have to reassure both the European [sic] and those who observe as from afar.”
What was Juncker talking about? Is this evidence that the world’s leaders know about the existence of extraterrestrials and they are keeping from us?
The official line is that Juncker merely made a mistake, a slip of the tongue, and that he meant to say “many leaders of our planet.” This is actually quite easy to believe since he wasn’t reading from a script. It should also be pointed out that Juncker is fluent in several languages and that he could have been a bit “off” or confused that day.
Most of Juncker’s political opponents agree that the reference to people from other worlds was a slip of the tongue, but one that was alcohol induced. Juncker’s political enemies like to point out that the Luxembourgish politician is a heavy drinker, although he himself denies those allegations. Most of the anti-Juncker crowd say that he just had one too many that day and said something silly while drunk. Why would aliens want to talk to him anyway, they add.
Still, conspiracy theorists and true believers in UFOs and alien life think it was a code he sent to the world wrapped in an average political speech. These people believe that Juncker’s anti-BREXIT speech was actually a case of a politician practicing the rarity of speaking the truth. They believe that Juncker was attempting to prepare us for the imminent arrival of aliens.
I guess anything is possible—the existence of aliens and/or a politician speaking the truth.
