Hitler has a pretty bad name, and understandably so, because of what he managed to do throughout his life. However, not all of his family was bad and one person in particular managed to go completely against his infamous relative.
The relative in question was the nephew of Hitler who went by the name William Patrick Hitler who eventually changed his surname to Stuart-Houston. His father was Alois Hitler, the brother of the more famous member of the family, and William was actually born in Liverpool, England.
He did live in Germany for some time, but then emigrated to the United States in 1939 after his attempts to blackmail his uncle failed to work out. However, he was also apparently firmly against the Nazi idea. It is known that he then signed up to fight in the United States Navy and the surprising thing was that his surname at the time was still Hitler. He was ultimately awarded the Purple Heart for being wounded in action and then settled down for a relatively quiet life after the death of his uncle and the end of the war.
So, just remember that even though Adolf Hitler certainly did his best to blacken the name of the family, that there were still good people out there that just had the misfortune of being related to him.
