One of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the modern era has to be the iceman called Otzi. Found in the Alps, it turns out that this was a discovery that showed an ancient murder rather than just somebody that had got lost in the wilderness and unfortunately died.
As his body is found close to the border of Italy and Austria, there has also been some debate as to who actually owns his remains, but this international battle is not the rather intriguing fact that we would like to mention here.
Instead, it is more to do with the man that found the body of Otzi back in 1991 where his remains were seen to be emerging from the ice. In a strange twist of fate, the man that found him, called Helmut Simon was also found dead on the ice in 2004. Of course, when you enjoy walking in the Alps in the winter then there is always the chance that this could happen to you, but at the same time you have to admit that it is a strange twist to an already strange story that Simon would end up in the same kind of conditions as his famous discovery.
