Bears have a habit of being very scary, but there is an additional fact about them that does make them even scarier than ever before. That fact is the speed at which they can run, because if you are unlucky enough to encounter one, then you better hope that luck is on your side.
While a bear such as the panda is slow, and you could outrun it quite easily, the pace of the brown bear is something completely different. The difficulty for you with a brown bear is that they can reach speeds as high as 35mph, which is the same speed attained by the average horse. Now, it’s a pretty good guess that it would be impossible for you to outrun something that is going at that speed, so you better hope that the bear has a muscle injury of some kind to give you a fighting chance.
