Everybody knows that snow is white in color, but do you actually know why it is white and not something else? Well, the answer to this question lies in the structure of the snowflake and the way in which snow is created. In other words, science and Mother Nature has the answer for you.
It turns out that the white color is all because of the crystals that make up the snowflake. Each crystal is actually translucent in nature, but it is the way in which it bounces light around that then leads to us seeing it as white. The light reacts with the crystals and produces light in different frequencies. This combination results in the white color that we all know and love so much, so nature is to thank for the color of snow.
